Welcome to Troop 75!

Troop 75 meets most Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church on Mentor Avenue in Mentor, Ohio. We are part of the Lake Erie Council, Area 1.

Our troop is Scout-led and relies on the Patrol Method. Our six patrols are the Buccaneers, Hydras, Raiders, Phoenix, Spartans, and Outlaws. Troop activities range from learning Scout skills and monthly campouts to civic service and high adventure.

What we do

• An annual week-long backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail

• Summer camp, alternating between Haliburton Scout Reserve in Canada and a local BSA camp

• Rock climbing, rappelling, whitewater canoe and raft trips, and rifle shooting

• Citizenship merit badge trips to local government, Washington D.C., and New York City

The Journey to Eagle

Every Scout who joins Troop 75 starts on the same trail. The ranks aren't a checklist to rush through. Each one marks who a Scout is becoming: more capable outdoors, more confident as a leader and more ready to help others. Every Scout goes at their own pace, with their patrol and leaders cheering them on.

• Scout — Joining the adventure. A new Scout learns what it means to live by the Scout Oath and Law and finds a home in a patrol of friends.

• Tenderfoot — First steps on the trail. Scouts learn to camp, cook and stay safe outdoors, and start building healthy habits.

• Second Class — Growing more self-reliant. Scouts find their way with map and compass, build a fire, handle first aid and learn to care for the land.

• First Class — Ready for the outdoors. A First Class Scout has the skills to enjoy any campout and is ready to teach younger Scouts what they have learned.

• Star — Stepping up to lead. Scouts take on real responsibility in the troop, give back through service and explore new interests through merit badges.

• Life — Living the Scouting values. Life Scouts lead by example, mentor others and grow their service to the community.

• Eagle Scout — Soaring as a servant leader. Eagle Scouts plan and lead a project that makes a lasting difference in the community, the capstone of years of growth. It is Scouting's highest rank and an honor carried for life.
